How it works
Tell us
About ten minutes, online or by phone, any hour. Eight questions: who needs care, what happened, the deadline, the budget and where.
We call every community that fits
We phone the 15–20 licensed communities that fit. We confirm who has an opening this week and what it really costs, and we pull the state inspection record.
You get the report
Three verified options with prices in writing, tours booked at the times you choose, and a named advisor by text for 30 days.
Proof, not promises

You pay us, and only when your report is delivered. No community pays us to appear in your report, so we can show you the licensed communities that fit, including the ones that pay nobody.

Preston reviews every report before it reaches you and answers your texts for 30 days after delivery.
The refund rule, in plain words
If we don't deliver three verified, available options inside 72 hours of your card being saved, you are not charged. If a community we confirmed turns out not to have the opening, tell us and we refund you.

One named person. We never give your number to a community until you say so. No handoffs to “partners.”
When we call communities, we describe your parent's needs without your name or number. You decide who gets your details, and when.

Questions families ask
Why would I pay when A Place for Mom is free?
Because “free” is paid by the community your parent moves into, usually a fee on move-in. That is why the list you are shown leans toward communities that pay, and why the price is usually “call an advisor.” We are paid by you, so we show you the licensed communities that fit, including the ones that pay nobody. We confirm the opening and the price the same day, in writing, and you get a report you can hand to your sister, your lawyer or the discharge planner. You pay only when we deliver.
When am I charged?
Only when your report is delivered. You save a card at the start (no charge) so the clock can start. If we miss the deadline, you pay nothing.
When does the clock start?
When your card is saved. It runs in calendar hours, weekends included: 72 hours for Placement and Guided, 24 hours for Price Check. We text you the exact deadline at that moment.
Who makes the calls to the communities?
Our automated calling assistant. It says it is automated and that it is calling for a family. It asks every community it calls the same questions and writes down each answer with the time and the name of the person who gave it. A person on our team reviews every report before you get it.
Will communities start calling me?
No. We never give your number to a community until you say so, and we don't hand your details to “partners.”
My parent may need Medicaid. Can you help?
Tell us at the start. We ask every community we call whether it accepts Medicaid and after how many months of private pay. In Illinois we include Supportive Living communities, the state's Medicaid assisted-living program.
What if an opening you confirmed turns out not to exist?
Tell us and we refund you. That is part of the guarantee.
Do you give medical advice?
No. We report what each community told us and what the state record shows. Decisions about care belong to you, your parent and their doctors.
Where do you work?
Across the United States by phone, except Washington State for now. We started in Chicagoland.
Start now. Nothing is charged until we deliver.
