About

A placement service that works for one side: yours.

We phone the licensed senior-living communities that fit, confirm what is really open and what it really costs, and write it all down with a receipt for every price. Families pay us. Communities don't.

Answered any hour by our automated intake assistant. It works for your family, not for any facility. A named advisor reviews and signs every report.

Who signs your report

Place in 72 is based in Chicago. Its founder, Preston Reiff, reviews every report before it reaches a family.

If something in your report is wrong, or a community tells you something different from what we wrote down, he is the person to tell.

Our standards

What we verify
For every community in your report: whether it has an opening of the type your parent needs, the base rate, the care-level fees, the community fee and the next increase, confirmed by phone and in writing where they will send it. Then the state license and inspection record.
How we record it
Every price carries a receipt: who told us, when, and by phone. The state record sits on the same page. Anything that comes from public reviews is labeled as opinion.
How we are paid
You pay us, and only when we deliver. Place in 72 takes no referral fees, commissions or any other payment from senior-living communities. We choose whom to call by fit (care needs, distance and budget), not by who pays us, and we include communities that pay no one.
Your privacy
One named person. We never give your number to a community until you say so. No handoffs to “partners.” When we call communities, we describe your parent's needs without your name or number.
What we don't do
We don't give medical, legal or financial advice. We don't own or operate any community. We can't promise that a community will accept your parent after its own assessment.

Where we work

Illinois first, starting with the Chicago area. We have 665 licensed Illinois communities on file: 495 assisted living and 170 supportive living, from the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois HFS lists, refreshed October 2026. We can't serve Washington State.
